White Ribbon Week is an Internet Safety program for students and parents
What will happen during White Ribbon Week?
- The theme of our week is I've Got the Power. We want to empower our students to be safe online and when using media.
- Each day students will learn a new POWER BOOST statement through a short announcement
- Mrs. Tatum and Mrs. Caskey will be teaching Internet Safety throughout the week to support I've Got the Power
- Students will have the opportunity to sign a poster that reinforces the concepts of Internet Safety. They will also get a mini poster to color.
- Students will receive a bookmark that lists the 5 POWER BOOST statements
- There will be a contest for students to memorize the 5 POWER BOOST statements. One student from each grade that memorizes will be in a drawing for a candy bar. The class that has the most memorized will get a donut party (1 in primary, 1 in intermediate)
- Each day after school, students can line up at volunteer tables to recite the POWER statements. If they memorize all 5, they will be put in the drawing for a candy bar. Volunteers will be stationed at primary and intermediate dismissal areas.
- We will have a parent night on the 26th from 6-7:30 (last 1/2 hour for questions) in the library. Parents can enter to win a movie night basket!
